Ethiopian Airlines flight crashes with 157 onboard, spokesman confirms

An Ethiopian Airlines flight between Addis Ababa and Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, has crashed, Ethiopian prime minister’s office said on Sunday.

“The Office of the PM, on behalf of the Government and people of Ethiopia, would like to express its deepest condolences to the families of those that have lost their loved ones on Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 on regular scheduled flight to Nairobi, Kenya this morning,” the office of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said on Twitter.

The cause and location of the crash, as well as the number of passengers on board the plane and the death toll, remained unknown on Sunday morning.
