Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi (popularly known as Danmodi), has reassured that the long-awaited list of ministerial nominees has the support of the ruling party’s governors.

The delay in communicating the ministerial list to the National Assembly has led to speculations about power struggles among major stakeholders, including the governors and former governors of the ruling party.

However, in an interview with Daily Trust in Dutse, Governor Namadi stated that President Bola Tinubu has been consulting with the governors, and the final list will not lead to any conflicts among them. He confirmed that the governors were involved and carried along in the process.

During the exclusive interview, the governor addressed various issues, including the perception of the “calculator” phenomenon associated with Jigawa State due to its former governor being known as ‘Mr. Calculator.’

Governor Namadi clarified that the “calculator” concept does not have the negative connotations some people portray. Instead, it signifies the prudent and judicious use of the state’s resources for the overall benefit of the public. The focus is on ensuring accountability, value for money, and responsible spending of funds for the people’s welfare.

He highlighted that the state has been managing its resources wisely, exemplified by regular salary and pension payments even before receiving federal allocations.
