Portable Confirms Romantic Relationship With Late Alaafin’s Wife

Controversial Nigerian street singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has officially confirmed his romantic involvement with Queen Dami, the late Alaafin of Oyo’s wife, following numerous speculations.

Queen Dami, who was one of the estranged wives of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Lamidi Adeyemi III, had recently garnered attention for seeking love online during a reality show.

After her husband’s passing, Queen Dami found companionship in Portable, the self-proclaimed street king, thereby confirming the dating rumors that began in June.

Their exchange of affectionate words, referring to each other as ‘king’ and ‘queen,’ along with the display of affectionate emojis on Queen Dami’s Instagram, sparked the speculations.

In an interview on the Honest Bunch Podcast hosted by Nedu WazobiaFM, Portable openly addressed the matter. He clarified that he felt compelled to pursue a relationship with Queen Dami after the death of the monarch.

Portable stated, “I’m a real human being, and she’s been a fan of mine from the start. But when I heard you say the king has passed away, and after the king, there’s another king… If the king hadn’t passed away, you wouldn’t see me with her. I don’t chase after other people’s wives; that’s why no one goes after mine.”

Both Portable and Queen Dami have a history of controversy. Queen Dami was one of the departed wives of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Lamidi Adeyemi III. She fled the Alaafin’s palace in November 2020, only to return and apologize about a year later. After her husband’s demise, she followed tradition by waiting a full year before making herself available for prospective suitors.

Portable, a father of six, is married to multiple women. He recently tied the knot with Nollywood actress Akinyanju Omobolarinde. He mentioned that he treats all his wives equally and advocates for women’s rights, urging men not to expect favors in exchange for warmth in their beds.

Although Portable has shown a soft side towards his wives, he has also engaged in feuds with fellow street artist Seyi Vibez and Goya Menor over industry recognition. Despite the controversies, Portable commended Davido, Don Jazzy, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, and Olamide for their support and influence on his career, while also urging Wizkid to nurture younger talents in Nigeria.
