JUST IN: PDP Suffer Huge Loss As Many Party Leaders Defect To APC (DETAILS)

In preparation for the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Bayelsa State scheduled for November, approximately 18 prominent leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Otuan Ward 5 in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area have switched allegiance to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defection occurred during a visit by the APC deputy gubernatorial candidate, Great Joshua Maciver, who was greeted by more than 1,000 supporters from the PDP.

The defectors, including PDP executive members, pledged their support for Chief Timipre Sylva and the APC in the upcoming election.

Prominent among the defectors are Mr. Miebi Adeyn, the PDP Organising Secretary in Ward 5, Southern Ijaw LGA; Miss Alami Philip, the PDP Women Coordinator in the ward; Retired Captain Philip Amabebe; Clapperton Ogbolowari; Omoni Sunday; Chief Victor Bob; Pastor Morris Gbere; Chief Bomo Alaseigha; Felix Souton; and Tolu Ozato.

Upon receiving the defectors, the Bayelsa State Chairman of APC, Chief Dennis Otiotio-Odioni, assured them of full integration within the party and urged them to collaborate in liberating the state from what he termed “the shackles of bad governance.”
