Trump Finally Reveals His Problem With Biden, Says Its Not Age
Joe Biden, America’s oldest president, received an unexpected endorsement regarding his age from an unlikely source: Donald Trump stated that the Democrat was “not too old” to seek a second term, but swiftly added, “I think he’s incompetent.”
These remarks from the former president were made in an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press” set to air on Sunday. They come at a time when America is grappling with a significant discussion on the advancing age of its political leaders, a crucial factor leading up to the 2024 elections – when Biden will be almost 82 and Trump himself 78.
Surveys reveal that while the age gap between the two men is slight, Americans harbor more concerns about Biden’s age. One poll found that three out of four people doubt his ability to serve a second term.

Trump’s own exit from office made him the second-oldest president in history (Ronald Reagan was 77 at the end of his term), which poses a challenge for the real estate magnate in repeatedly asserting that Biden is too “sleepy” for the job.
Yet, this hasn’t deterred the Republican, who would be 82 at the close of a second term, from attempting to navigate this delicate issue.
“Some of the greatest world leaders have been in their 80s,” he stated to NBC. “I’m not anywhere very near 80, by the way.
“And Biden’s not too old,” Trump added. “But I think he’s incompetent, and that’s a bigger problem.”
Biden, who overcame a stuttering issue in his youth, has frequently faced mockery for his verbal slips. Nevertheless, he remains physically active, refrains from drinking, and is often seen cycling on weekends at his Delaware residence.
Democrats argue that he also excels in terms of competence, having overseen the passage of major legislation, including a substantial infrastructure bill, the most significant gun-safety bill in decades, and the Build Back Better social spending initiative.
Furthermore, Biden has been highly engaged on the global stage. In fact, during his recently concluded trip to Vietnam – a trip that analysts suggest was partly arranged to underscore his vitality – the country’s 79-year-old Communist leader warmly complimented Biden on his relative youth.
Regarding his own age, Trump believes it isn’t a cause for concern, noting that his parents lived long lives. “So genetically, that’s a good thing.”
His assertions about his own competence were met with skepticism during the 2020 presidential campaign when Trump claimed he achieved an “amazing” result on what he described as a test of mental acuity. He stated he had to recall, in order, the words: “Person, woman, man, camera, TV.”
His repeated recitation of those five words was lampooned by political opponents and became a viral sensation on social media.
Nevertheless, in an apparent reference to that test, Trump affirmed in the NBC interview, “I aced it. I got everything right.”
