I Want To Offer Experience, Practical Solutions To Our Problems-.Ogiemwonyi

Abuja- The former Group Executive Director, Exploration and Production of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation NNPCL; former Minister of State for Works, Federal Ministry of Works, and the APC Edo governorship hopeful, Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi, yesterday was at the APC national secretariat, in furtherance to his wider consultations with stakeholders of the party.
Among others that he met is the national woman leader of the Party, Dr. Mrs Mary Alile Idele. Ogiemwonyi meeting the woman leader congratulated her on her appointment as the national woman leader of the Party urging her to bring her wealth of experience in philanthropic and humanitarian activism to bear on the mandate of galvanizing Nigerian women to work assiduously for the realization of the renewed hope agenda of the President Bola Tinubu led administration, and also promise to support her women empowerment programs when ever call upon,he said; “Empowering a woman, means empowering a Nation.”
Ogiemwonyi, described the Edo state-born women leader as a dogged chieftain of the APC who has worked vigorously to boost the fortunes of the party in not just the South-South Geopolitical zone but in Nigeria as a whole, expressing hope that her inclusion in the National Working Committee of the ruling Party would be a big advantage to the party.
Speaking on the Edo 2024, Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi said;that his decision to run for the Edo 2024 governorship election followed the need for good governance in Edo state, pointing out that he has all it takes to salvage the state from the numerous challenges facing it today.
Speaking with some stakeholders at the APC National secretariat he said, “We are in one of the trying and tough times in our history in Edo state. Poverty, insecurity, joblessness and lack of infrastructure still face us at this time.
Responding to Engr. Ogiemwonyi, Dr. Mrs Alile the national woman leader said “there has never been a time when Edo state need serious leadership than now. APC is in a better position to offer Edo that desirable leadership”, she said.
Ogiemwonyi responded,”That is what I want to offer. I want to offer my experience and practical solutions to solving our problems in Edo state. I have the experience in the lower and highest level. As a former Group Executive Director, Exploration and Production of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation NNPCL; as a former Minister of State for Works, Federal Ministry of Works, in Nigeria, I made much progress in national transformation. As a businessman, I have solved Grassroot problems by creating jobs for thousands of people”.
Hon. Idehen Osarobo, an APC leader in Ikpoba-Okha local government of Edo state who was one of those who accompanied the former Minister of state said, “ I have no doubt in my mind that with Ogiemwonyi, Edo and the APC will be making the best choice and decision, if we as a people truly wish to make abundant progress and return APC to power come 2024 in Edo state”
He further said “ the evidences are clear but the choice is APC to make.The messages are also unambiguous ” he said.
Engr. Ogiemwonyi, also appealed to APC leadership to remember that Nigerians place so much hope on them; and such hope must not be dashed.
He further advised.“We must ensure all hands are on deck and the primaries must be credible and transparent with the best candidate with profound track records of successes in business, governance, leadership and wider network is put forward to challenge who ever the opposition is bringing out in the state”.
He also said, “the APC should also look out for its first eleven candidate,considering the main opposition feeding a candidate with an intimidating credentials. Ogiemwonyi, also said “our target in the APC should be winning the coming 2024 gubernatorial election and not just the primaries.
Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi has been a top civil servant, served as member of the NNPCL corporate board, PHCN board amongst other institutions and entities.
A former Group Executive Director, Exploration and Production of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation NNPCL; a former Minister of State for Works, Federal Ministry of Works,and a prominent businessman and philanthropist, making his fortune in the oil and gas sector and giving some of it away to charity.
