The Rivers State Government has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with two private firms to construct 20,000 housing units for individuals with low and middle-class incomes, as well as to develop a central spare parts market in the state.

Pricewise Home Nigeria Limited, a sister company to TAF Africa Global, known for developing Riv/TAF Estate (also called Golf Estate) in Port Harcourt, will oversee the housing projects. Gosh Project Limited has been entrusted with the development of the automobile spare part market.

Following the signing ceremony at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Governor Fubara highlighted that this initiative aligns with his goal to provide affordable housing for low-income earners. Regarding the proposed spare part market, he mentioned that it fulfills a campaign promise to the Igbo-dominated spare part dealers for their support during the election. The market will serve as a centralized hub for automobile dealerships and repairs.

Governor Fubara clarified that the spare part market, situated on the outskirts of Port Harcourt, contributes to the state’s development by creating new viable cities.

He emphasized the administration’s commitment to expanding inherited projects and expressed satisfaction that these long-awaited investments are now materializing to boost the state’s economy.

Assuring a conducive environment for investors, Governor Fubara challenged both companies to commence construction on the two projects within one week. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on behalf of the Rivers State Government by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Professor Zacchaus Adangor (SAN), and the Management of New City Development Agency (formerly Greater Port Harcourt Development Authority). Representing the companies were Mr. Mustapha Njie, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of TAF Africa Global, and Mr. Okoh Jeff, the Chief Executive Officer of Gosh Project Limited.
