This choice of performers sparked outrage among Netizens, who criticized the church for selecting these particular singers. The controversy gained momentum on various social media platforms, with individuals expressing displeasure over the church’s decision.

Adding to the controversy, the Celestial Shepherd-in-charge of the Celestial Church of Christ International Headquarters in Ketu, Olatosho Oshoffa, publicly condemned the invitation of Portable, Pasuma, and May-Shua to the church’s praise night. In a Facebook post last week, Oshoffa announced that he had communicated with the parish’s cleric to modify the promotional poster, clarifying that the aforementioned singers would no longer be honored at the event.

He said, “Dear Celestians, I have just spoken to the Shepherd in Charge of the above Parish at length. He has promised to make amendments to the posters.

“He has assured me that the aforementioned artists under dispute will not attend the praise nights. Without a doubt, the aforementioned poster is highly Condemnable. Blessings to CCC. Amen.”
