CAN Reacts To Kaduna Village Bombing
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has expressed condolences to the families of the victims affected by the accidental bombing in Tudun Biri, Igabi Local Government of Kaduna State.
In a statement issued on Thursday and signed by CAN President Bishop Daniel Okoh, the association urged political and religious groups to exercise restraint and avoid exploiting the incident for personal gain.
Bishop Okoh commended the Armed Forces for their dedicated commitment in combating terrorism in Nigeria and called for the provision of more accurate surveillance technologies to enhance their capabilities.
Additionally, the statement called on the Federal Government to prioritize the safety and welfare of citizens, emphasizing that such efforts should extend beyond the currently affected areas to regions facing emerging cases of terrorism.

The statement read in part, “On behalf of the national leadership of The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), I express our deep condolences to the victims and the Kaduna State Government following the tragic incident of mistaken targeting in the Tudun Biri community, Igabi Local Government of the State. This unfortunate event has resulted in a significant number of casualties, and our thoughts and prayers are with the affected families during this difficult time.
“CAN reiterates its unyielding support for the Federal Government in its ongoing war against terrorism and insurgency in Nigeria. It is imperative that these efforts extend beyond the affected regions and address emerging cases of terrorist activities and criminality in other parts of our nation. As an organisation, we believe in the constitutional responsibility of the government to ensure the security and welfare of the Nigerian citizenry.
“We appeal to all interest groups, be it political or religious, to refrain from capitalizing on this tragic incident for personal gain. The focus should remain on supporting the affected communities and working together to prevent future occurrences. Finally, CAN remains committed to fostering unity, peace, and the overall well-being of the Nigerian people. We stand with the affected victims and their families during this challenging time, and we pray for healing and comfort.”
