Verification

To confirm the legitimacy of the image, fact-checkers at Daily Trust conducted a Google Reverse Image search. The results disclosed that the same picture had been previously posted by various platforms.

Nevertheless, the initial appearance of the image dates back to 2014 when the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) disclosed that a fugitive, Jeffery Ozuka Okafor, had escaped from Nigeria to the United Kingdom amidst allegations of murder.

Okafor was apprehended by the Nigeria Police in September 2014 after evading the United Kingdom following accusations related to the murder of Carl Beatson Asiedu in London in August 2009.
