The slain traditional rulers are identified as the Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Samuel Olusola, and the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsola. Tinubu pledged that the perpetrators of these brutal crimes would not escape justice.

Furthermore, Tinubu directed the immediate rescue operation for the kidnapped pupils and teachers, emphasizing that the security of life and property is the primary responsibility of his administration.
