AFCON : Tinubu Encourages Super Eagles Toward Championship Victory
President Bola Tinubu expressed optimism on Thursday regarding the Super Eagles of Nigeria’s chances of winning the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast…..COUNTINUE READING
Tinubu conveyed his hope that Nigeria would emerge victorious, stating, “Awa Lokan.”
Speaking at an event in Abuja, he congratulated Nigerians on the Super Eagles’ triumph over South Africa’s Bafana Bafana.
Tinubu remarked, “Congratulations once again on the recent victory. It was a moment of jubilation for all of us as a united nation, filled with hope that it’s our turn to claim the trophy, Awa Lokan.”
On Wednesday evening, the Super Eagles defeated South Africa 4-2 in a penalty shootout to advance to the AFCON finals.
After 120 minutes of play, the match ended in a 1-1 draw, leading to the shootout.
With this triumph, the Super Eagles are set to face Ivory Coast in the AFCON finals on Sunday.
