This year’s Grammy Awards ceremony took place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles last Sunday night.

Despite being a first-time nominee at the prestigious awards, Davido did not secure a win in any of the three categories he was nominated for, alongside other Nigerian nominees.

Nevertheless, during an interview with Rolling Stone, Davido reminisced about a conversation with his father, who assured him of his legendary status despite the loss.

“Just being nominated is an achievement in itself, and I’m proud of that. Initially, all I wanted was to hear my song on the radio a couple of times, but to see it transcend to this level is simply amazing and a testament to God’s grace.

“I spoke with my dad yesterday, and he said, ‘Son, regardless of the outcome, you’re still a legend.’ So yeah, he’s a big fan,” he shared
