Deputy Commissioner of Police Hope Okafor, who led the parade of suspects at the Police Command Headquarters in Osogbo, revealed that six individuals were arrested in connection with armed robbery. These suspects were allegedly involved in the kidnapping of a victim and altering IMEIs of stolen phones to avoid police tracking.

Among the arrested armed robbery suspects were Seyi Ojo, Kamorudeen Quadri, Ogbemudia Sunday, Fatai Toheeb, David Adebayo, and David Aderemi. Investigations unveiled their involvement in multiple robberies, including a high-profile case in Ijebu Jesa and the subsequent kidnapping of Sarah Olomolatan.

Furthermore, the police disclosed that Ayodele Kehinde, arrested for motorcycle theft, identified Seyi Ojo as a fellow gang member involved in their criminal activities.

Additionally, four suspects were apprehended for their affiliation with the Eiye Confraternity, while another was caught stealing electricity cables from a construction site in Osogbo.

In a significant operation, the police intercepted a gang of suspected car thieves on Osunjela Ilesha road en route to Kabba, Kogi State. The suspects, posing as gearbox mechanics, were found to have stolen cars from unsuspecting customers. Four cars were recovered during the operation.

DCP Okafor urged residents whose property was recovered to come forward with evidence to claim them. All suspects will face legal proceedings following the completion of investigations.
