The tragic incident, where Nigerian soldiers on a peacekeeping mission were ambushed and killed by youths in Okuoma Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State, was met with Obi’s vehement disapproval.

In a statement released on his official X account, the former Anambra governor expressed outrage, describing the killing as barbaric and intolerable.

Obi urged the government and security agencies to spare no effort in apprehending and prosecuting the perpetrators of this heinous act.

He lamented the ongoing insecurity across the nation and stressed the importance of valuing and appreciating the sacrifices made by security personnel who risk their lives to maintain peace and security.

Obi emphasized the need for adequate compensation and welfare for the families of the deceased security personnel, as well as healthcare for the injured.

Expressing his heartfelt condolences to the families of the fallen heroes and their respective security formations, Obi encouraged them not to lose heart but to see the tragedy as a call to redouble efforts in their duties.
