EFCC Arrests 20 Suspected Internet Fraudsters In Ibadan
Operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have apprehended twenty suspected internet fraudsters in Ibadan…..READ ALSO EFCC Chairman Urges NDIC: To Prevent Bank Failures
According to the Commission, the alleged fraudsters were arrested on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in the Akobo area of Ibadan, following actionable intelligence regarding their suspected fraudulent internet-related activities.
Among the items recovered from the suspects are ten exotic cars, twelve laptops, forty-one mobile phones, one PlayStation 5, one television set, and other incriminating documents.
The EFCC stated that upon the conclusion of investigations, the suspects would be charged to court to face appropriate legal actions.
This operation demonstrates the EFCC’s continued efforts to combat cybercrime and internet fraud, aiming to protect citizens from financial exploitation and uphold the integrity of Nigeria’s financial system.
