Suspected Kidnapper And Alleged Mastermind Of Seminarian Burning Nabbed In Kaduna

According to ASP Mansir Hassan, the command’s spokesperson, the apprehension stems from a distress call received on September 7, 2023, regarding an attack at St. Raphael Catholic Church, Kamantan. Despite the swift response by security forces, the assailants had already set fire to the priest’s residence, resulting in the tragic death of seminarian Stephen Naaman and extensive property damage.

Thanks to diligent investigative efforts, Yakubu Saidu, purportedly the mastermind and leader of the criminal gang responsible for the heinous act, was arrested on March 22, 2024. He has reportedly confessed to his involvement in the crime.

Commending the police operatives for their prompt and efficient action, the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, CP Ali Audu Dabigi, lauded their dedication and bravery in safeguarding the lives and property of Kaduna State residents.
