Omehia Criticizes Wike For His Remarks Against Fubara

Celestine Omehia, the former Governor of Rivers State, has strongly criticized the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, accusing him of excessive ambition and disrespect towards Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Omehia’s remarks come in response to Wike’s recent comments during a media parley in Abuja, where he referred to Uche Secondus, Sen George Sekibo, and other PDP leaders in Rivers State as “expired politicians and buccaneers” due to their support for Fubara.

In a statement to journalists, Omehia condemned Wike’s behavior, describing it as typical of a confused mind whose aspirations for a third term as Governor were thwarted by the people of Rivers State.

He accused Wike of being notorious for lying and disrespecting elders at will, suggesting that his outbursts and criticisms against innocent individuals in Rivers State supporting Fubara’s administration were unsurprising.

Omehia further criticized Wike for his inconsistencies and advised him to focus on his responsibilities in Abuja, stating that the state does not miss his presence or “nuisance value.”

He emphasized that Wike’s attempts to control and abuse the resources and governance of the state were resisted by the people, thwarting an impeachment plot by members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

Regarding Wike’s behavior, Omehia remarked, “Wike speaks from both sides of his mouth, he says something today and denies it tomorrow like a clown.”

He questioned Wike’s motives behind criticizing their support for the Governor and the Federal Government under President Tinubu, suggesting that Wike’s desire for perpetual political conflict was unreasonable.

In conclusion, Omehia labeled Wike’s behavior as madness and urged him to reconsider his approach towards governance and political discourse in Rivers State.
