Nine Suspects Apprehended By Police For Culpable Homicide In Yobe

According to DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, the command’s Public Relations Officer, one of the incidents occurred on March 29, 2024, around 6:30 pm, following a distress call received by operatives of the Area Command from Mohammed Sani of Nayi-Nawa Ward. Sani reported that Muhammed Muhammed had stabbed his 19-year-old son, Hashimu Mohammed, with a knife during a heated argument. Tragically, the victim succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital. The perpetrator fled the scene but was later apprehended.

Similarly, on April 3, 2024, around 9:00 pm, another distress call was received from Usman Abba of Nayi-Nawa Ward. Abba reported that a group of youths, aged between 17 and 20, from Nayi-Nawa Ward had brutally assaulted and stabbed his 17-year-old son, Mamman Usman, resulting in his death. Eight suspects involved in this incident have been arrested, while the police are actively pursuing the remaining culprit.

The Yobe State Police Command is committed to ensuring justice for the victims and maintaining peace and order within the state.
