Ganduje Misses APC’s Ondo Gov Screening Panel Inauguration

The All Progressives Congress (APC) recently inaugurated a seven-member committee tasked with overseeing the screening process for the 16 governorship aspirants in Ondo State. Administered by the Deputy National Organising Secretary of the APC, Nze Chidi Duru, the oath-taking ceremony appointed Joshua Lidani, a former Deputy Governor of Gombe State, as the head of the screening committee, with Bimbo Daramola, a former member of the House of Representatives, serving as the Secretary.

Other committee members include Pastor Jones Erue, Chief Second Bakor, Magaret Duru, Prof. Chukwudi Ledirick, and Abdul Balogun. Additionally, a five-man Screening Appeal Committee, led by Senator Oseni Yakubu, was sworn in.

Duru emphasized the importance of conducting the screening diligently, within the designated timeframe, and assured support for the committee in facilitating their tasks. He highlighted the seamless transition between the screening and appeal processes, emphasizing the intertwined nature of their work.

Notably, Ganduje and Basiru were also absent during the inauguration of a similar committee tasked with screening 12 governorship aspirants for the Edo State primary election in February.

The absence of key party figures during these events raises questions about their involvement and highlights the significance of the screening process in determining the party’s candidates for upcoming elections.
