Seun Jimoh: EFCC Scapegoating Celebrities In Naira Abuse Crackdown

Nollywood actor Seun Jimoh has criticized the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for what he perceives as a trend of targeting celebrities in its crackdown on naira abuse. Jimoh argued that it’s unfair to single out certain individuals for a crime that many Nigerians are guilty of, especially when there is abundant video evidence of such behavior widely available on the internet. He questioned why celebrities are being targeted and emphasized that they are also citizens, deserving of fair treatment.

The actor criticized what he described as a “scapegoat approach” to cultural reforms, suggesting that it lacks consideration for the mental health of Nigerian citizens. He raised concerns about the potential impact of such targeting on the broader populace and called for a more equitable and just approach to addressing issues related to naira abuse.
