Emir Of Minna Establishes Committee To Combat Youth Restiveness

During the inauguration of the committee in Minna, the royal leader emphasized the importance of adhering to established rules and regulations while urging members to discharge their duties effectively. He directed the committee to collaborate closely with law enforcement agencies within the Minna Emirate to achieve their objectives.

“I assure you of my maximum cooperation at all times. And, also ensure you did not spare any person who would want to breach the peaceful coexistence already established in the Emirate,” stated the Emir.

Niger State Commissioner for Justice, Nasiru Mohammed Mua’zu, echoed the need for the committee to address thuggery and other criminal activities decisively. He emphasized that such behaviors have no place in the emirate and pledged swift legal action against offenders.

The commissioner emphasized the commitment to due process, ensuring that suspects are promptly arraigned in court within 24 hours, in accordance with the penal code law. He warned that individuals found in possession of dangerous weapons or disrupting the peace would face legal consequences.

Hon. Nma Kolo Mohammed, the Special Adviser on Political Matters to the Governor of Niger State and Jowon Minna, commended the relative peace witnessed in Minna and its environs since the committee’s formation. He urged ward heads to remain vigilant and prevent the infiltration of undesirable elements into their communities.

The committee, chaired by Alhaji Umar Sanda, is tasked with proactively addressing the underlying issues contributing to youth restiveness and enhancing security within the Minna Emirate.
