Speaking during an All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders’ meeting in Makurdi, Governor Alia emphasized the need to complement the efforts of existing security agencies in addressing the security challenges facing the state.

He disclosed that his administration is already taking steps to procure Hilux vans and motorcycles to enhance the mobility of the security outfit across the state.

Governor Alia commended the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and security agencies in safeguarding the nation, particularly Benue State. He expressed optimism that the establishment of the state-owned security outfit would contribute to restoring security in Benue communities, allowing farmers to safely return to their farmlands.

Benue State has experienced recurring attacks by suspected Fulani herders, leading to the displacement of approximately three million indigenes who have sought refuge in Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps.
