The suspended members, comprising two from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and one from the All Progressives Congress (APC), were accused of conspiring to change the leadership of the house. Identified as Okogbe Ojeneh Donald (PDP), Akoko-Edo II; Addeh Emankhu Isibor (APC), Esan North-East I; and Iyamu Bright (PDP), Orhionnwon II, they were suspended indefinitely.

Speaker Agbebaku alleged that external influences were behind the plot to destabilize the house’s leadership. He also claimed that the suspended members had connections to individuals who brought native doctors into the assembly complex to perform rituals and sow discord.

The suspension led to tension in the assembly, with the affected lawmakers protesting against their suspension, demanding a vote on the matter. Amidst the chaos, the Speaker abruptly adjourned the session.
