President Tinubu Launches 4-Year Strategic Plan for National Lottery Trust Fund
Abuja, Nigeria – October 28, 2024 – President Bola Tinubu has officially launched a transformative 4-year strategic plan for the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), aiming to enhance its operations and expand its impact on GOOD CAUSES throughout Nigeria. The unveiling, which took place at the Aso Villa Banquet Hall in Abuja, represents a key advancement in NLTF’s mission to support communities in need.
Representing President Tinubu at the event, Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, voiced confidence in the new strategic roadmap, describing it as an instrument to boost federal support for Nigeria’s most vulnerable communities.
“This initiative is a critical part of President Tinubu’s vision for economic growth, security, food production, and social services,” Akume remarked. “The President believes the National Lottery Trust Fund will deliver significant assistance to vulnerable Nigerians.”
In a keynote address, NLTF Executive Secretary, Comrade Tosin Adeyanju, expressed his gratitude to President Tinubu for the administration’s introduction of the Revenue Assurance Platform (RAP), a tool designed to increase transparency and impact in the lottery sector.
“The strategic plan represents a pivotal moment for NLTF,” said Adeyanju. “We are committed to supporting communities across Nigeria and delivering GOOD CAUSES that align with the President’s vision for sustainable development.”
Since its establishment in 2005, NLTF has completed over 306 projects across Nigeria, with initiatives aimed at transforming communities. The new plan builds on this foundation, with the goal of strengthening NLTF’s impact on social welfare, development, and inclusion.
Prominent attendees at the event included Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Hon. Zephaniah Jisalo, and the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Maryam Keshinro, who both echoed the strategic document’s value to national development. Also in attendance were representatives from key federal agencies, ministers, and legislators who praised the NLTF’s efforts and pledged their continued support.
**Key attendees:**
– Senator Victor Umeh, representing the Senate President, praised NLTF’s achievements.
– Hon. Canice Moore, Chair of the House Committee on Special Duties, pledged House support for NLTF’s new direction.
– Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, and Coordinating Minister for Health & Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, were also present.
