NDIC Announces Simple Steps For Heritage Bank Customers To Retrieve Unpaid Funds

Hassan explained NDIC’s role in liquidating Heritage Bank and supporting depositors in recovering their funds. “Depositors who haven’t received payments should provide their BVN, proof of account ownership, ID, and alternate account details,” he advised, noting that claims can be submitted through NDIC’s website, email, and social media.

He emphasized NDIC’s commitment to protecting depositors and maintaining financial stability, working closely with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). “Our mandate is to safeguard depositors and ensure financial security,” Hassan stated.

Represented by Communications Director Nuhu Bashir, Hassan reassured the public that licensed banks in Nigeria remain stable and sound, emphasizing NDIC’s dedication to building a secure financial environment that fosters confidence and economic growth.

Gabriel Idahosa, President of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), commended the NDIC’s regulatory effectiveness and commitment to stability in the financial sector, adding that its vigilance has been essential in protecting depositors and bolstering confidence in Nigeria’s banking industry.
