On Monday, Bwala addressed criticisms over his decision to take on the role of media aide to the President. These criticisms stemmed from his previous criticisms of the APC and President Tinubu.

Bwala responded by asserting that he had been a consistent APC member for years, having defended the party publicly for nearly eight years before the election. He stated, “I have only been away for about seven months. People are attacking me, but much of it is sponsored. I’m not new to the party.”

He emphasized his long-standing affiliation with the APC and dismissed the claims of sudden allegiance to the party. “I’m not a newcomer,” he added.

Bwala Discusses Relationship with Bayo Onanuga

In another segment, Bwala addressed his relationship with Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy. Bwala, showing respect for Onanuga’s career, said he would never engage in any conflict with the seasoned journalist.

“Bayo Onanuga is an elder statesman, a brilliant journalist with a proven record. I have great respect for him,” Bwala said, adding that he would always defer to Onanuga’s leadership in the media space. He further added, “If he asks me to do something, I’ll do it without hesitation. It’s not about titles, it’s about respect.”
