The demands include payment of palliative arrears from October 2023 to November 2024, salary increments of 20-28% from January to November, N32,000 flat payments from July to November, and adjustments to the National Minimum Wage from July to November.

Agbas explained that the association serves as an umbrella for various groups of retired military personnel and their families, with its primary focus on their welfare.

Vice President of the association, Mr. Joseph Chinga, emphasized that military veterans are patriotic citizens, whose sacrifices have played a crucial role in safeguarding the nation.

“We love this country, and it was our efforts that prevented the breakup during the Civil War and kept terrorists from overtaking key cities,” Chinga said. “We are not against the government; we are only fighting for what was promised to us by President Bola Tinubu.”
