In response, Juwon Sanyaolu, the National Coordinator of TIB, rejected the police’s legal basis for banning peaceful protests. He emphasized that the movement would continue its demonstrations as scheduled. Sanyaolu criticized the police for their alleged lawlessness and noted that their actions, particularly the abduction of Farotimi, were a manifestation of the very issues Farotimi highlighted in his book.

The protests are also fueled by the accusations from Aare Afe Babalola (SAN), who claims that Farotimi’s book defames him, prompting a police investigation and court charges. Despite these legal developments, TIB and its supporters, including Omoyele Sowore, are mobilizing for protests to challenge what they see as judicial and police impunity.

Protests are planned to take place on December 10, 2024, across various cities, including Ado Ekiti, Benin City, Toronto, and London.
