to remain focused on achieving even greater milestones.

In an email addressed to the team, Opiegbe attributed the achievement to improved gas supply facilitated by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPCL) and Heirs Energies but emphasized that the journey toward sustainable power delivery is far from over.

He highlighted key areas for improvement, including installing more prepaid meters, restoring electricity to neglected areas like Akwete in Ukwa East, and ensuring consistent, high-quality power supply to attract major industrial customers.

Opiegbe expressed concern over companies like Nigerian Breweries opting to invest in captive power plants, citing irregular and unsafe electricity supply as a major deterrent for industrial clients. He stressed that reliable and affordable power would naturally bring such firms back to utilities like Aba Power.

Underlining the company’s investment efforts, the MD noted the construction of five new substations, refurbishment of three inherited ones, and the installation of 150,000 kilometers of overhead wires. He also praised the high-quality steel tubular poles used, comparing them to those in earthquake-prone cities like Tokyo and San Francisco.

Opiegbe further disclosed ongoing efforts to secure increased gas supply for the 188MW Geometric Power Plant to ensure all turbines operate at full capacity, expanding supply beyond the Aba Ringfence.

“No part of Nigeria should be without power in this day and age,” he concluded, reiterating the company’s commitment to delivering world-class electricity.
