Following the ruling, Equatorial Guinea has been reinstated to compete in Group D alongside defending champions Senegal and Sudan at CHAN 2024.

The tournament, originally scheduled for 2024 but postponed to August 2025, will showcase players from domestic leagues across Africa. It will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles have also qualified for the competition.
