by injury, Arteta admitted that the team is facing challenges due to a lack of depth in the forward positions.

Despite being the only team in the Premier League’s top six without a player in double figures for goals—Kai Havertz currently leads with eight goals—Arteta emphasized the need for a potent addition to strengthen the attack. Arsenal remains in a tight race for the title, trailing Liverpool, who are six points ahead with a game in hand.

“We’ve lost two incredibly important players, and we’re feeling the impact. Our attacking options are limited, and we’re in need of reinforcements,” Arteta said ahead of Saturday’s clash with struggling Wolves. He highlighted the importance of signing the right player—someone who can make an immediate impact and elevate the team’s performance.

While the team has managed to cope with the absences so far, Arteta acknowledged the need for help, especially given the already thin squad. The transfer window closes on February 3, and Arsenal will be looking to bolster their ranks before then.

Reflecting on the season, Arteta believes his team has shown significant progress and is now a realistic contender for the Premier League title. Despite a recent slip-up against Aston Villa, Arteta remains focused on closing the gap to Liverpool, stressing that every point matters in such a tight contest.

“The margins are incredibly small,” Arteta explained. “If we’d secured that win last weekend, the gap would look very different. We have to stay focused and do everything within our control. There’s still a long way to go.”

With Arsenal’s sights firmly set on the title, Arteta will continue to push for the reinforcements necessary to compete at the highest level.
