stop disposing of sand, soil, concrete, or other waste materials on the roads, in order to minimize the risk of accidents and to maintain the cleanliness and safety of the area.
The appeal was shared by ZAROTA’s Public Relations Officer, Saleh Kwaren Shinkafi, who stressed the importance of adhering to traffic laws and safe practices in order to create a secure road environment.
In particular, the Commandant called on individuals who wash motorcycles, tricycles, or cars on public roads to cease these activities, as they are in violation of existing regulations. He also highlighted concerns about street vendors and traders who obstruct roads and pedestrian walkways by displaying goods. He urged these vendors to relocate their businesses, as these areas are intended solely for pedestrian and vehicle movement.
Musa encouraged cooperation with the ZAROTA agency and urged both motorists and residents to follow the agency’s guidelines in support of a safer environment. He reassured the public that ZAROTA personnel are committed to their duties and dedicated to upholding the agency’s integrity. He also reminded residents that all vehicles—commercial and private—must be registered in the state to avoid penalties.
The Commandant thanked State Governor Dauda Lawal for his support in helping the agency achieve success and expressed his appreciation to the people of Zamfara for their cooperation. Musa made it clear that anyone found in violation of ZAROTA’s regulations would face disciplinary action in line with the law, reinforcing the agency’s firm commitment to ensuring road safety standards across the state.
