While receiving the Crime Fighter Award from Worldview Magazine, represented by its Editor-in-Chief and Managing Director, Williams Ayooso, General Uwa underscored the military’s dedication to ensuring the safety of Taraba’s citizens.

He reiterated that the Army’s efforts are aimed at creating a peaceful environment where residents can feel secure, stating that the military will continue to strive towards a state where citizens can “sleep with their two eyes closed.”

General Uwa called for a united approach to addressing the state’s security challenges and encouraged all stakeholders to play their part in combating criminal activities. He also acknowledged the role of journalists in the state, commending them for their fair and balanced reporting, which supports peace and progress.

In presenting the award, Williams Ayooso praised the commander’s exceptional performance in tackling insecurity in Taraba and stated that the recognition is intended to inspire further efforts from the military. Ayooso also emphasized the magazine’s commitment to highlighting the Army’s positive contributions to security.

Mathew Eliud Jen, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Taraba, expressed full support for the award and praised the commander’s efforts. He also expressed confidence in the continued success of security personnel in the state.
