Not Guilty? Gospel Singer Charged With Girlfriend’s Murder Sh**cks The Court

A 32-year-old suspect, Timileyin Ajayi, has pleaded not guilty to charges of murdering his girlfriend, Salome Adaidu, during his arraignment at the High Court of Justice in Lafia, Nasarawa State.

Ajayi faces a one-count charge of culpable homicide, punishable by death, as stipulated under Section 221 of the Penal Code of Northern Nigeria. During his appearance before Justice Simon Aboki, the suspect denied the allegation.

However, in a shocking statement, Ajayi expressed that he feels no remorse for the act.

The suspect was arrested on January 12, accused of murdering 24-year-old Salome, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member serving at Nicon Insurance in Abuja. Salome was killed during a visit to Ajayi’s residence in the Papalana area of New Karshi, Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State.

Authorities allege that Ajayi was apprehended while attempting to dispose of the victim’s head after dismembering her body. Speaking to Channels Television, the suspect claimed the killing was not premeditated but occurred because of alleged relationship issues, citing lack of time for each other.
