Investigation Underway As Gunmen Abduct Family Of Four In Abuja

A security guard from the area, speaking anonymously, confirmed the incident, stating, “The attack happened early this morning, and four individuals have been confirmed kidnapped so far.”

Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the attack in a statement on Monday. According to Adeh, seven gunmen, disguised as vigilante members and armed with machetes and sticks, invaded the community in the early hours of the day and abducted the victims.

The statement revealed: “On January 27, 2025, at about 1:00 A.M., the FCT Police Command received a distress call about an abduction in the Chikakore community. Preliminary investigations show that the suspects deceived the victim into opening the gate before abducting him and three family members.”

A neighbor who tried to intervene was injured during the attack and is receiving treatment at Kubwa General Hospital.

The police have launched a comprehensive search and rescue operation to ensure the safe return of the victims and to apprehend the culprits.

Residents of the community have been urged to remain vigilant and provide any helpful information to aid ongoing rescue efforts. The FCT Police Command assured the public of their commitment to resolving the case swiftly.
