Responding to a social media post commending his straightforward leadership style, el-Rufai wrote on X:

“I don’t know how to pretend. Being a Nollywood actor in governance is for others, not for me.”

His remark comes amid tensions with members of President Bola Tinubu’s administration. El-Rufai recently criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), claiming the party had strayed from its founding principles.

His comments sparked reactions, including from presidential aide Daniel Bwala, who implied that el-Rufai’s stance might have been different if he were part of Tinubu’s government.

El-Rufai, however, dismissed the claim, maintaining that his views on APC would remain unchanged regardless of his position in government.
