10 Candidates Qualify For ICT Test In Accountant-General Recruitment Process (See List)

In a statement by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Eno Olotu, the candidates were shortlisted after successfully passing a written examination assessing their knowledge in public financial management, auditing, and fiscal policy.

Out of 15 candidates who took the exam, 10 qualified to proceed to the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) proficiency test, scheduled for Thursday, February 13, 2025. This test aims to evaluate their ability to integrate technology into modern financial administration.

The Head of the Civil Service, Didi Walson-Jack, reaffirmed the government’s dedication to a transparent and merit-driven recruitment process.

“This rigorous selection ensures that only the most competent individuals are appointed to key leadership positions in public financial management,” she stated.

She emphasized that the government seeks candidates with both technical expertise and strong leadership qualities to ensure accountability and efficiency in managing national finances.

The vacancy for the Accountant-General position arises as Dr. Oluwatoyin Madein’s tenure is set to conclude on March 7, 2025. The appointed candidate will be responsible for overseeing Nigeria’s public finances, ensuring transparency, and improving financial management across government institutions.

Following the ICT test, successful candidates will proceed to oral interviews conducted by a panel of experts from both the public and private sectors. The selection process remains focused on competence, equity, and fairness.
