In a statement released on Monday, Osun NLC Chairman, Comrade Christopher Arapasopo, emphasized that the directive aims to protect workers amid the ongoing political unrest.

He stated:

“The Osun State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) strongly reaffirms its earlier directive, advising all local government workers in the state to stay away from their offices due to the ongoing political crisis. This directive remains in effect as we continue to pray for peace in the state.

“Ensuring the safety of our members is our top priority, and we will not permit them to work in an environment of insecurity.

“The Osun State NLC remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding the rights of workers and the general public. We refuse to be intimidated by any desperate attempts to suppress our voices. Our resolve to uphold justice, fairness, and the rule of law remains unshaken.”

This development follows the withdrawal of 65 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) from the NLC’s planned nationwide protest, citing concerns over political interference.
