APC National Caucus Meeting Today: Tinubu’s Leadership Takes Center Stage (See Highlights)

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will preside over today’s National Caucus meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. This announcement was made by the party’s National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, in an interview with The PUNCH………READ MORE 

“By the grace of God, the President will be there. He has already confirmed his attendance,” Basiru affirmed.

He also addressed concerns about potential delays in the National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings, which are set for Tuesday and Wednesday. “No, nobody is postponing anything. The National Caucus and NEC meetings will still take place on Tuesday and Wednesday as planned,” he reassured.

These meetings were initially scheduled for September 11 and 12 of the previous year but were postponed without an official reason. At the time, APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, promised a new date would be announced later. Despite continuous inquiries, the party remained tight-lipped about rescheduling, with National Working Committee (NWC) members only indicating that the meetings would occur “very soon.”

However, a leaked memo from Basiru has now confirmed that the National Caucus meeting will take place today, February 25, 2025, at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, with the NEC meeting following on February 26, 2025, at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

The memo read: “Distinguished colleagues, kindly circulate the following to all party stakeholders in the states: the National Caucus of the party is scheduled for Tuesday, 25 February 2025, at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa by 6 pm. The National Executive Committee will hold on Wednesday, 26 February 2025, at the National Secretariat of the Party. Best regards.”

These meetings are expected to be attended by key party figures, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, former President Muhammadu Buhari, APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, Senate President Dr. Godswill Akpabio, former Senate Presidents, past and present APC governors, serving and former Speakers of the House of Representatives, state party chairmen, the NWC, and other important stakeholders.

For Dr. Ganduje, this will be his first NEC and Caucus sessions as the newly appointed APC National Chairman.
