Speaking in an interview with Arise News on Monday, Ogunlewe emphasized that female senators do not perceive themselves as inferior to their male counterparts. He noted that Ita-Giwa, for instance, would challenge anyone who referred to her primarily as a woman rather than a senator.

Addressing the ongoing controversy surrounding Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Ogunlewe condemned allegations of sexual harassment but suggested that her physical appearance might naturally attract attention from men.

“The distinguished Senator Natasha’s beauty could be a challenge for her,” he remarked. “It’s natural for men to appreciate attractive women, and while some may only glance or smile, her presence inevitably draws attention.”

His comments come amid debates over gender dynamics in the Senate following Akpoti-Uduaghan’s suspension, which has sparked significant public discourse.
