Former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Solomon Ewuga, has died after a prolonged illness. A family member in Akwanga and Nasarawa-Eggon confirmed the sad development, noting that details of the burial arrangements would be announced in due course.

Senator Ewuga, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), previously served as Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State before his appointment as FCT Minister. He also represented Nasarawa North in the 7th Nigerian Senate and held various other key positions in public service.

The late politician survived a harrowing kidnapping in 2021 and was widely respected for his contributions to national development across several administrations from 1999 until his passing.

Meanwhile, in a separate development, President Bola Tinubu has approved automatic employment for the four children of the late Head of the Civil Service of the FCT, Dr. Grace Adayilo. The announcement was made by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike during Adayilo’s funeral service at the National Ecumenical Centre in Abuja.

Wike described Adayilo as a devoted and humble administrator whose dedication to prompt payment of salaries and benefits for civil servants had a lasting impact. He commended her as a respected community leader and urged Nigerians to emulate her commitment to service. “We must learn from her life of service. None of us knows tomorrow. What matters is what we leave behind,” the minister remarked.

The funeral was attended by top government officials, civil servants, family members, and friends, who gathered to honor her memory.
