Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has openly acknowledged the presence of a close-knit decision-making group within his administration, describing the team as a driving force behind the achievements recorded so far in his government.

Speaking at a public function in his hometown on Sunday, the governor said the leadership of the group was endorsed by his predecessor, former Governor Yahaya Bello. According to political observers present at the event, Ododo dismissed negative connotations often associated with the term “cabal,” insisting that any structure that delivers results should be embraced.

The governor stated that he takes pride in the effectiveness of those working closely with him, noting that their collective effort has contributed significantly to projects being executed across the state, including the one commissioned at the event.

He further explained that teamwork should not be discouraged based on labels, emphasizing that performance and results are what truly matter in governance. Ododo remarked that while he had previously been part of similar groups, the current team stands out for its efficiency and commitment to service delivery.

According to the governor, the leader of the group is Hajiya Dr. Habibat Tijjani Aliyu, FCMA, whose appointment was approved by former Governor Yahaya Bello. He added that the group comprises top government officials, including the Accountant-General, Auditor-General, party chairman, Special Adviser on Protocol, and the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs.

Governor Ododo maintained that strong collaboration among key officials has been instrumental in advancing his administration’s agenda and delivering tangible projects to the people of Kogi State.
