Minister Abubakar Momoh Mourns With Edo Deputy Governor Idahosa Over Mother’s Passing At 95

The Honourable Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, FNSE, has extended heartfelt condolences to the Deputy Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, following the passing of his mother, Madam Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa, who died peacefully on April 8, 2026, at the age of 95.

In a solemn condolence message addressed to the Deputy Governor, the Minister described the late matriarch as a woman of rare virtue whose life reflected devotion, dignity, and enduring impact.

“It is with profound sorrow that I received the sad news of the passing of your beloved mother… who departed this life peacefully at the remarkable age of 95 years,” the Minister stated.

Engr. Momoh, speaking on behalf of his family and the Federal Ministry of Regional Development, conveyed deep sympathies not only to the Deputy Governor but also to his wife, siblings, and the entire Idahosa family, noting that the loss extends beyond the immediate family to the wider Edo community.

“Mama lived a long, fulfilled, and blessed life as a virtuous wife, devoted mother, and revered matriarch… Her peaceful departure at such a ripe old age is indeed a testimony to a life well spent in the service of God and humanity,” he added.

The Minister further emphasized that the late Madam Idahosa’s legacy transcends generations, highlighting her role in nurturing children who have gone on to make meaningful contributions to society.

Extending the condolence to the people of Edo State, Engr. Momoh described the deceased as “a worthy mother and grandmother of the state,” whose values and life lessons will continue to echo across communities.

He prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul and strength for the bereaved family during this difficult time.

“May Almighty Allah grant her gentle soul eternal rest in perfect peace and grant you, your family, and the entire people of Edo State the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”

The Minister concluded by reaffirming solidarity with the Deputy Governor and the people of Edo State, assuring them of the Ministry’s support during the mourning period.
