Full List: Tinubu Gives Approval For New Appointments

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Ms. Adedayo Benjamin Laniyi as the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development (MBNCWD).

According to Ireporter Online, the President also gave approval for the constitution of the Centre’s Governing Council for an initial tenure of four years.

The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Thursday night by the Head of Information and Public Relations, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Chris Ugwuegbulam.

The appointment, contained in a letter signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, and released through the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, is effective from April 18, 2026, in line with Section 7 (1) and (3) of the National Centre for Women Development (Amendment) Act, 2023.

The approved Governing Council is chaired by Princess Joan Jummai Idonije, while other members include Ms. Lois Auta, Hon. Jamila Sarki, Aisha Baiyee, Hon. Jumoke Okoya-Thomas, and Hon. Princess Anne Agom-Eze.

President Tinubu congratulated the newly appointed Director-General and members of the Governing Council, extending his best wishes as they assume their respective roles.
