According to Ireporter Online, President Bola Tinubu on Sunday received his Certificate of Return alongside the official APC flag after being confirmed as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 general election.

The presentation ceremony took place in Abuja, where the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, formally handed over the certificate and party flag to the President, marking his official status as the party’s flagbearer following his emergence as winner of the presidential primary election.

In his acceptance speech, President Tinubu expressed appreciation to the party leadership, governors, National Working Committee, lawmakers, and members across the country for their continued support and confidence in his leadership. He described the moment as a reaffirmation of Nigeria’s democratic progress and collective commitment to national development.

Tinubu recalled his 2022 presidential journey, noting that his election then and current position reflect a sustained trust from the party and the Nigerian people. He emphasized that his administration is focused on continuity, consolidation of reforms, and strengthening national stability.

The President highlighted key achievements of his government, including reforms in education through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, which has disbursed over N282 billion to more than 1.5 million beneficiaries. He also referenced improvements in the power sector, including increased electricity generation, expanded metering initiatives, and plans to settle longstanding debts owed to energy generation companies.

He further stated that the removal of fuel subsidies and ongoing fiscal reforms have strengthened macroeconomic stability, improved revenue generation, and enhanced investor confidence. According to him, infrastructure development remains a top priority, with investments in roads, ports, aviation, housing, and digital connectivity aimed at driving long-term economic growth.

On security, Tinubu acknowledged ongoing challenges in parts of the country but assured Nigerians of intensified efforts to strengthen security operations, modernize intelligence systems, and collaborate with communities. He also noted support for constitutional reforms that could enable the creation of state police as part of broader security restructuring.

The President admitted that many citizens are still facing economic hardship due to ongoing reforms but maintained that his administration is committed to addressing these challenges with practical solutions. He called for unity, national cooperation, and patience as reforms begin to yield stronger results.
