According to Ireporter Online, Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has spoken candidly about the circumstances surrounding the end of his marriage, revealing that a deep emotional low altered his personality and affected his relationship at home.

The veteran actor made this known during an interview with Chude Jideonwo, where he disclosed that he went through a difficult phase in his life that drained his usual enthusiasm and drive.

Jim Iyke explained that during this period, he became more withdrawn and fully immersed himself in caring for his child, spending most of his time at home while struggling with his inner emotional state. He noted that although he became deeply committed to fatherhood, the shift in his personality created strain in his marriage, as his partner was no longer experiencing the version of him she had known.

He further stated that over time, he became more present as a father than as a husband, a situation that gradually created emotional distance between them. According to him, his wife eventually expressed that she could no longer recognise the man she married due to the changes brought on by his struggles.

The actor added that he was honest with her about his condition, admitting that he was uncertain about how long it would take for him to fully recover and return to his former self. He said he also respected her decision if she was unable to wait through the process.

Ultimately, the relationship ended amicably, with both parties parting ways peacefully and remaining on friendly terms after the separation.
