Acting Isn’t My Hobby, It’s My Life” — Nancy Isime Opens Up On ‘Bl**d Sisters 2’ Role
Actress Nancy Isime has opened up about the intense dedication and emotional commitment she invested in portraying Kemi Sanya in Blood Sisters 2, emphasizing that acting is far more than a profession for her—it is her life’s calling.
According to media reports, the actress shared an emotional reflection on Instagram, revealing that she completely immersed herself in the character by isolating for about a week before filming and spending significant periods alone throughout production to fully embody the role.
Isime explained that the demanding process required her to set aside her own identity to allow the character to take over, describing the experience as a significant risk that many actors struggle to recover from. She disclosed that after filming wrapped, she was physically and emotionally drained, leaving her unable to accept new acting projects for nearly two months.
Celebrating the overwhelming reception of the series, which climbed to the number one spot on Netflix’s Top 10 chart within 24 hours of its release, the actress expressed gratitude for the positive feedback from fans while noting that many had asked about the depth of her performance.
She stressed that acting is neither a hobby nor a means of making money but a lifelong passion she is fortunate to earn a living from. According to Isime, her supporters deserve nothing less than her best effort, adding that minimizing her abilities out of fear of criticism would amount to disregarding the talent she has been blessed with.
The actress also expressed appreciation to Netflix, EbonyLife Studios, the creators, writers, directors, producers, and the entire production team, including her co-stars, for creating an environment that allowed her to fully transform into Kemi Sanya 2.0.
Describing Blood Sisters 2 as “a performer’s dream,” Isime said the outpouring of love through calls, messages, comments, and posts had left her overwhelmed with joy, as she looked forward to taking on more challenging roles that inspire and ignite her passion for storytelling.
