Gospel singer Judikay has opened up about a frightening medical experience she encountered while expecting her second child, revealing that doctors initially raised serious concerns about the baby’s condition during a routine ultrasound examination in Canada.

According to reports, the singer, whose real name is Judith Kanayo-Opara, was 34 weeks pregnant when medical personnel informed her that the scan showed her unborn daughter had no nose, was not breathing, and advised her to undergo a Down syndrome test.

Speaking during her daughter’s dedication service, Judikay recalled the emotional moment, explaining that she immediately contacted her husband after receiving the unsettling report. She said he encouraged her to discard the diagnosis and decline further testing, choosing instead to place their faith in God.

“We decided not to proceed with the test. My husband told me to tear the report, and we chose to pray and thank God for our baby,” she recounted.

The gospel artiste disclosed that her daughter was eventually delivered safely, with doctors later discovering that the baby’s umbilical cord had been wrapped around her neck twice while in the womb.

Judikay shared the testimony as she reflected on the difficult journey leading to the birth of her second child, describing the experience as one that strengthened her faith and gratitude after years of waiting to expand her family.
