NAF Airstrikes Wipe Out Terrorists, Blow Up Vehicle In Borno

A military source disclosed that the operation took place in the early hours of June 7 during an armed reconnaissance and air interdiction mission conducted over the Ali Sherifti general area.

The source noted that air assets operating under the call sign “Guardian” successfully identified and monitored a group of eight terrorists gathered under a tree within the location.

Further surveillance reportedly uncovered an additional group of four terrorists positioned close to a vehicle hidden in thick foliage.

Following positive identification, the air component launched a precision strike on the first group, neutralising all eight terrorists on the spot.

Subsequent battle damage assessment revealed movement of the remaining four terrorists who attempted to flee the scene, prompting an immediate follow-up strike that targeted both the fleeing insurgents and the concealed vehicle.

Military sources confirmed that the vehicle was destroyed in the second strike, with no further terrorist activity observed in the area afterward.

The operation, according to military authorities, was aimed at degrading terrorist capabilities, disrupting their mobility, and denying them freedom of action across the North-East theatre of operations.

They further emphasized that sustained coordination between air and ground forces has continued to yield significant operational successes, while reaffirming commitment to maintaining pressure on terrorist enclaves and restoring lasting peace and security to affected communities.
